What Can YOU do?

Taiwan is a little island located off of China and is prodomenately, an Asian country. The small Asian country, though not technically part of the Republic of China, is made up of Chinse, Japanese, aboringinese, and Dutch ancestory. The language of Taiwan is mainly Mandarin Chinese but is split up by generations really which only makes slight variations of the Mandarin Chinese language. The older generation speaks Japanese with Mandarin mixed in, while the next generation was Mandarin. Their schools teach ENGLISH as a second language. The Taiwan people are a people of rich culture, beautiful song and artistic creation, genius in many subjects including that of electronics and such. Taiwan has put their best foot forward in producing many fine items and trading them with other countries. They are one of the biggest "little" distributors in the world. Well, as time has gone by, along with traditions that far out last most of those of the America's and with superstitious minds taboot. (Don't give scissors or knifes as a gift, it means you are cutting the friendship off). The Taiwanese culture also holds a very strong and well maintained stigmatism towards unwed mothers. It is not like here in the U.S. where a fair part of the time, a family will stand next to a pregnant teen that wishes to keep their child, keeping a child in the U.S. under these circumstances is realistic and a distasteful but supported venture. In Taiwan the culture dictates that an unwed mother be treated as an outcast if you will, a social black spot so to speak. Therefore, the teens and unwed mothers of Taiwan do not usually keep their children. Their options are adoption or abortion. To further the pain of choosing one of these two options for their unborn, the kind option of adoption is sometimes taken from the birth mother leaving her with the only option she feels is a viable option for her self preservation, abortion of the unborn child. How is the option of adoption taken from her? Well, there are presently approximately 32 orphanages in Taiwan right now, with only 4 of those being in the public eye and functioning "placing" orphanages. Three of those orphanages are government or Catholic ran working only with agencies for child placement and charging large sums for adoptions and ONE of those 4 is Born again believer ran, placing with born again believers only but for "cost" only, meaning adoptive families pay a little less than half an agency adoption. While all of this information is fine and dandy, these 32 orphanages are all FULL majority of the time, and some are children that are not even adoptable which in turn means no in and out flow making for a full orphanage most of the time and few spots to work with allowing for movement of children in and out. Meaning that many unwed mothers are turned away each year, mainly summer time for Taiwan's young pregnant teens. Which in turn means that the women of Taiwan choose what they feel is their ONLY answer to self preservation, ABORTION! Morning Light Ministries, which is ran by Missionaries Luke and Deana Pan. While Morning light's main objective is not an orphanage, it is yet an objective and as you can read above a VERY NEEDED objective for Taiwan's people. Morning Light Ministries is wishing to start a brand new VERY NEEDED orphanage in Taitung Taiwan. They are just waiting on funding and the right building or land to build on, so that they can start this venture. They are being mentored by the Home of God's Love in Yilan Taiwan (opposite end of the island). Home of God's love is the one born again orphanage in existance in Taiwan at this point. They have been placing with families for 20 years and have helped literally hundreds of children over the years. The government has asked Home of God's love to build a second building, in turn expanding Home of God's love ability to reach more families of Taiwan and more families of the U.S. The Taiwanese government is now also helping Morning Light to obtain registration allowing them to have full abilities in Taiwan dealing with children. Now they just need the home for the children they need to touch. Morning Light is planning on being much like Home of God's love in as they will not be working with U.S. side agencies because they wish to keep the costs low on adoptions, so low that it is virtually cost adoption. Meanwhile, Luke Pan has a China trip to prepare for and Deana has a phsycology course to take to better prepare her for their new callings, and also homeschool her precious children along with taking care of the foster kids they have in home, and they both run the Taitung Bible church and do their normal out reach ministries. Whew! Is that all? Yes, so what can YOU do? You can contribute by donating money to Morning Light via the Chip in on their site http://mlchome.org/default.aspx you can also donate without leaving here.. it is right to your right.... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> See it? Yeah, that's it... click on the orange button....
now copy the line of text in the white box within the brown box and paste it into your browser on an empty open page... that's right..... there you go... easy huh?
You can also offer prayer for Morning Light and all of the helpers as we try to get the orphanage built or bought. That the right building or land would be available and soon! And that the Pan's would recognize that IT IS the building or land for the orphanage. That the registration would go smoothly and that all would have the strength to do what they can do and the God given intelligence to know what is too much and they can't do. Thank you for your ear and time. We appreciate all that you are going to do to help the people of Taiwan.
